Students from the MelAvio Avionics Research Club, operating at the Faculty of Power and Aeronautical Engineering of the Warsaw University of Technology, will take part in the UAV Challenge Medical Express. The competition is held every two years and involves the best academic teams and teams of professionals involved in the construction of unmanned machines from around the world.
This year’s competition, which will take place from 24 to 28 September 2018, is organized by the University of Queensland and the Australian Institute for Research and Development.
The students of the Warsaw University of Technology will present the drone “Marlin”, which performs the missions without operator interference and has the option of automatically changing the flight route in the event of a possible collision with other users of the airspace. It is a combination of a classic aircraft with a combustion engine and an electric-powered multi-rotor.
