Students of the Mechanical Faculty of Wrocław University of Science and Technology want to build the first electric buggy in Poland. The unique vehicle called LEM SSV will take part in nationwide rallies, competing with internal combustion cars. It is a new project of the Scientific Society for Vehicles and Mobile Robots.
The students got the frame for their vehicle from the Opole branch of the American company Polaris. It will become the basis for the LEM SSV, the electric buggy, which will be the first such vehicle in Poland. They are planning to take part in the Orlen Super Race and in prologues of rallies such as: Baja Poland or Poland Breslau.
The vehicle’s electric drive will generate 110 horsepower. High torque (254 Nm) will provide the buggy with excellent acceleration on any terrain, and vehicle users will also be able to switch from 4×4 to 2×4 drive to adapt the driving style to different terrain conditions.
