Students of the Wrocław University of Science and Technology have won two main awards in this year’s Competition for Young Architects and Engineers. This is an annual challenge for architecture students and construction engineers from all over Poland organized by the “Builder” magazine.
The jury awarded as the best project “Rostanice” by Martyna Majer and Milena Szymczak from the architecture department as well as Magdalena Golina, Mateusz Otto and Agnieszka Strap from the civil engineering department. The winning team focused on low-emission railway, planning to build a station for magnetic trains in the former gold mine in Zloty Stok.
The second prize was awarded Aleksandra Bernard and Maja Cichowlas from the faculty of architecture, and Joanna Bagrowska and Mateusz Śmigla from the faculty of civil engineering for the project “Marina. Revitalization of the station area and railway infrastructure in Lewin Kłodzki”. The train station, which currently houses flats, would return to its function – but in a modernized form.
