Students of the University of Life Sciences in Wroclaw developing a geoportal about coronavirus infections

08.06.2020

Students of geoinformatics at the University of Life Sciences in Wroclaw have developed the most extensive geoportal collecting information about coronavirus in Poland.

The wirusnamapie.pl project is based on collecting data shared by voivodeship offices – they publish accurate data on the number of cases in poviats on their websites. On the geoportal created by students, users can generate online statistics, visualize the distribution of infections, recoveries, the number of active cases, hospital addresses, or, for example, the places from which people infected with coronavirus came to Poland.

The project involves scientific clubs of KNG Dahlta from the AGH University of Science and Technology in Kraków, KN Regional and Political Geography of the University of Warsaw as well as student clubs from the University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn and the University of Life Sciences in Wroclaw.
