The College of Medical Sciences of the University of Rzeszów (UR) and the 1st Department of Pediatrics and Pediatric Endocrinology of the Provincial Clinical Hospital No. 2 in Rzeszów obtained the certificate of the reference center in pediatric diabetology as one of 30 such centres in the world.
It happened as a result of participation in the SWEET project, which was implemented by the College of Medical Sciences of the University of Agriculture. The SWEET project is one of the activities of the International Society for Pediatric and Adolescent Diabetes (ISPAD). ISPAD is a global, prestigious and opinion-forming society for diabetology of children, adolescents and young adults. International ISPAD recommendations on pediatric diabetes care recommendations, issued since the 1980s, are widely cited and form the basis for other national recommendations.
