02.09.2020

The world’s most advanced surgical robot, da Vinci, was presented at the Independent Public Clinical Hospital No. 2 of the Pomeranian Medical University in Szczecin. The center in Szczecin is the second clinical hospital in Poland where surgeons will use this innovative technology.

The robot will be used for general surgery, urological operations (e.g. radical prostatectomy) and gynecological operations, mainly in the treatment of patients suffering from oncological diseases. The equipment was approved and the first operation was carried out.

The da Vinci system is the most advanced robotic system in the world. It enables more effective and efficient therapy of oncological diseases including cancers of the cervix, prostate or colon. In 2019, over 1.2 million treatments using da Vinci were performed worldwide and over 1.1 thousand systems were installed.
