The first in Poland system enabling interactive teaching of histology and cytology during practical classes is available at the Department and Histology of the Medical University of Gdańsk.

Thanks to equipping microscopes with a digital camera and a tablet, the student has the possibility to save images of histological preparations in the form of a graphic file, marking the characteristic structures in the picture. Then the files can be archived and sent to the student’s email address.

The system is an interactive consulting and didactic platform. Images from microscopic cameras are sent in real time to the assistant’s tablet. Thanks to the appropriate software on the computers of academic teachers, it is possible to display the image from a given student microscope on the big screen, discuss it for all students.
