Tax relief for students studying at private universities in progress

14.12.2018

The Ministry of Science and Higher Education plans to introduce a tax deduction for full-time students at non-public universities.

According to the initial proposal of the Ministry of Science, a working student, his parents or legal guardians would be able to deduct part of the expenses for the study at a private university to a predetermined amount from the tax base. According to Katarzyna Zawada, a spokesman for the Ministry of Science, the ministry assumes that the limit will amount to PLN 2,000.

The new solution is to facilitate access to higher education for people who are not able to study at a public university, due to their economic situation or place of residence.
