The Impuls team from the Kielce University of Technology in Kielce won the 4th international robotics competition European Rover Challenge, which took place from 14 to 16 September 2018 in Starachowice.
The Raptors team from the Lodz University of Technology took the second place, and the third place was taken by the Canadian team Robotics for Space Exploration from the University of Toronto.
The winners of the European Rover Challenge will take part in the prestigious AMADEE-2020 analog mission, organized by the Austrian Space Forum on the Arabian Peninsula in 2020. The robot from the Kielce Impuls team has become the official rover of this mission, and team members will be included in the full cycle of field missions in the Mars simulation.
Congratulating the teams, Deputy Prime Minister Jarosław Gowin said: “The nations of the world often fought against each other because of land, I hope that the conquest of the cosmos will take place in a completely peaceful way.”
