Technological universities become most popular in Poland

Data of the Integrated Information System on Science and Higher Education “POL-on” show that in October this year over 428,000 people started their studies at Polish universities. As in previous years, IT was the most popular study.

428,609 people were admitted to the first year of studies in the 2020/2021 academic year. Over 314,000 people started their BA studies and over 114,000 students started their MA studies.

The Poznań, Gdańsk and Warsaw technological universities became the most popular universities. More than 6 candidates per one place wanted to study at these universities. The fourth place was taken by the Lodz University of Technology (over 5 applicants for the 1st place).

The most frequently chosen university by the candidates was the Warsaw University of Technology, where over 45,000 people wanted to study, then the University of Warsaw (43,000), followed by the Jagiellonian University in Krakow (over 33,000).
