The textbook “Dimensions of social policy”, edited by Olga Kowalczyk, PhD, Wrocław University of Economics, and Dr Stanisław Kamiński, won the award in the “Competition for the best research and teaching work in the field of: work, social policy and human resource management”, organized by the Committee of Labor Sciences and Social Policy of the Polish Academy of Sciences.
The textbook discusses the meaning, models, subjects and instruments of social policy, the issue of social security, poverty, education and the labor market.
Students of social sciences should learn to make inferences on their own, formulate assessments regarding the mutual conditioning of phenomena and processes related to the needs of people and the functioning of the economy. The aim is to facilitate this task for them, to provide them with the necessary information to help them understand the basic issues of social policy and the relations between them.
