The National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA) has announced the results of the recruitment for the scholarship program. Stefan Banach. In this year’s edition, out of 2049 applications from 32 countries, financial support was granted to 300 people.
The objectives of the Banach NAWA program, which is a joint initiative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and NAWA, are to equalize the standard of living in various regions of the world by educating citizens from developing countries, developing closer cooperation between Poland and various regions of the world by supporting the most talented students and the social responsibility of science.
This year, the largest number of scholarship recipients are citizens from Azerbaijan, Ethiopia and Nigeria. The scholarships went to 133 people from Asia, 81 from Africa, 73 from Europe and 13 from Central and South America.
The most popular among the scholarship holders were universities such as: Warsaw University of Technology, University of Warsaw, Jagiellonian University, Wrocław University of Science and Technology, University of Wrocław, Poznań University of Technology.
