The University of Gdańsk has received over two million euro from the European Union’s Horizon Europe program. Such a high subsidy places the University of Gdańsk in the fifth place among Polish universities and in the 9th place in terms of all Polish research centers. In total, over 110 million euro came to Polish project participants, which places Poland in the 14th place among the EU members.

The University of Gdańsk is currently implementing six projects co-financed by Horizon Europe, in one of which it acts as a coordinator. The budget of these activities reaches up to several hundred million euros – informs the university.

The subject matter of the projects is very different. The FIERCE initiative deals with feminist movements and other pro-social activities, the aim of the CRISTAL project is to synchronize various modes of transport and increase the share of freight transport. PARC is working to identify the degree of chemical risk on a national scale, and the FoQaCiA partners are looking to extend the theoretical basis for quantum algorithm design.
