University of Zielona Góra joins the European Consortium for Arts Therapies Education

The University of Zielona Góra was admitted to the European Consortium for Arts Therapies Education ECArTE, an organization supporting and supervising the process of education and professional development of art therapists in Europe. It is the second Polish institution among 35 universities of 14 countries.

ECArTE was established in 1991 on the initiative of the universities of Hertfordshire, Münster, Nijmegen and Paris. Its goal is to care for and supervise the standards of education and professional development of art therapists in the European Union countries. Basic requirements for membership include respecting the Bologna Process principles and belonging to the Erasmus program.

ECArTE brings together universities teaching various types of therapy through art, including artetherapy through the arts, music therapy, drama therapy, dance therapy, and in the Netherlands additionally garden therapy. Until now, the only Polish member of ECArTE was Akademia Ignatianum in Krakow.
