Three centers of scientific excellence Dioscuri established in Warsaw

Scientists Paweł Dłotko, Gracjan Michlewski and Bartłomiej Wacław will head new centers of scientific excellence in Warsaw. They were selected from 24 world scientists in the second Dioscuri competition organized jointly by the National Science Center (NCN) and the German Max Planck Society.

Selected leaders of Dioscuri centers will start creating their research groups in the second half of 2020.
Paweł Dłotko will found the Dioscuri Center in Topological Data Analysis at the Mathematical Institute of the Polish Academy of Sciences (PAN).

The second Dioscuri Center will be led by Gracjan Michlewski, a RNA biologist. This Dioscuri Center for RNA-Protein Interactions in Human Health and Disease will be established at the International Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology in Warsaw.

Bartłomiej Wacław, a theoretical physicist by profession, will set up the Dioscuri Center in Physics and Bacterial Chemistry at the Institute of Physical Chemistry of the Polish Academy of Sciences.
