At the Podkarpackie Innovation Center, the rectors of three universities: the University of Rzeszów, the Rzeszów University of Technology and the University of Information Technology and Management received a total amount of over PLN 10 million. This is money intended to support research and development projects.

The received grants will allow research teams to develop innovative technologies that have the best chance for commercialization. The funds may be allocated to for the purchase of various devices and equipment, materials and raw materials necessary for the implementation of works, rental of research and scientific equipment, remuneration of persons directly involved in the implementation of the project and financing the cost of patent protection or other protection of intellectual property rights.

Thematic areas covered by the projects include: health protection (e.g. pharmaceuticals, cosmetology), bioeconomy and food, medical technologies, including devices and advanced materials, information and communication technologies (software), renewable energy sources, information and communication (hardware), land, water and air transport.
