The Jagiellonian University in Krakow was classified in the 501-600 range and obtained the best result among 23 Polish universities assessed by the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2022.
In this year’s ranking, prepared by the British journal “Times Higher Education”, 1,662 universities from 99 countries were assessed. It evaluates universities in terms of their main missions: teaching, research, knowledge transfer and international perspectives, by five criteria: teaching, research, citations (each for 30% of assessment), internationalization (7.5%), and economic revenues (2.5%).
The University of Warsaw was classified in the 601-800 range. The universities occupying positions 1001-1200 include: Medical University in Białystok, Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, Gdańsk University of Technology, Medical University of Warsaw, Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń and SWPS University of Social Sciences and Humanities.
The University of Oxford became the leader of the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings for the sixth time. The California Institute of Technology and Harvard University were placed ex aequo in the second place.
