Two main prizes awarded in the competition for the best master’s thesis in Polish cinema or audiovisual education

Students of Film Studies at the Jagiellonian University in Krakow, Joanna Krygier and Joanna Najbor, as well as Patrycja Chuszcz from the University of Łódź became laureates of the 5th Professor Ewelina Nurczyńska-Fidelska Competition for the best MA thesis in Polish cinema or audiovisual education. 

The competition is organized by the Educational and Cultural Association “Venae Artis” in cooperation with the Department of Film and Audiovisual Media of the University of Lodz and the Museum of Cinematography in Łódź.

The jury awarded two equal Main Prizes to Joanna Krygier for her work “The universe, a parody and a game with genre conventions. The activity of the Darwin Film Group on YouTube”, written at the Jagiellonian University under the supervision of Dr Jadwiga Hučková, Jagiellonian University and Patrycja Chuszcz from the University of Lodz for her work “Culture of radical film production. An example of the Open Cages Association”, written under the supervision of Dr Michał Pabiś-Orzeszyna, University of Lodz.

The second award in the competition was won by Joanna Najbor for her work “Forms of landscaping local Poland in feature films after 2015”, written at the Jagiellonian University under the supervision of Prof. Małgorzata Radkiewicz.
