Two projects by scientists of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Sciences at the Poznań University of Life Sciences have been funded as part of a call for proposals by the National Agency for Academic Cooperation for joint research projects between scientific institutions from Poland and Slovakia.

Researchers from the Department of Animal Nutrition will implement the project ‘Zinc feed additives as a strategy to reduce methane emissions in ruminants with endoparasites’. The partner institution in Slovakia is the Centre of Biosciences SAS, Institute of Animal Physiology, and researchers from the Department of Zoology together with the Slovak University of Veterinary Medicine and Pharmacy in Košice will carry out the project ‘Vector-borne pathogens in flying vertebrate populations’.

The funded projects will contribute to the deepening of the Polish-Slovak scientific cooperation already underway at the department.
