Two researchers reach the final of the “Woman. Innovation. Nature. Eco-innovations for a better tomorrow “

Dr Eng. Maria Kurańska from the Faculty of Chemical Engineering and Technology of the Krakow University of Technology and Dr Anna Sroka-Bartnicka from the Department of Genetics and Microbiology of the Maria Curie Skłodowska University in Lublin were among the six finalists of the competition organized by the Lirene “Woman. Innovation. Nature. Eco-innovation for a better tomorrow”.      

Dr Eng. Kurańska received a nomination for a project involving the use of used cooking oils to obtain highly effective thermal insulation materials used in construction.

Dr Anna Sroka-Bartnicka is the project manager for the development of an ecological preparation for the growth and yielding of cultivated and medicinal plants.

The aim of the competition is to appreciate women who ” shape a better future with their committed actions, outstanding scientific achievements and extraordinary entrepreneurship”. We distinguish bold female initiatives that work for the environment – emphasized the organizers.
