Until 1 September 2023, applications can be submitted for the “Regional Initiative of Excellence” programme 2024 – 2027, which aims to strengthen the activities of universities in specific scientific or artistic disciplines or groups of disciplines. 

“The Regional Excellence Initiative” supports universities in conducting scientific research in areas that build their national and international recognition and those that take into account regional specificities, as well as in training qualified human resources necessary for the functioning and development of society, the economy and public administration,” informs the Ministry of Education and Science.

The competition is open to an academic university that has a scientific category of A+, A or B+, runs a doctoral school and does not meet the conditions for participation in the competition under the ‘Excellence Initiative – Research University’ programme.
