The mayor of Lublin, Krzysztof Żuk,  the mayor of Nancy, Laurent Hénart, the rector of the Maria Curie Skłodowska University, Prof. Stanisław Michałowski and the rector of the University of Lorraine, Prof. Etienne Criqui signed agreements on the establishment of the University European Center in Lublin, with aim to conduct research and teaching of European integration.

The agreement is part of the partnership renewal agreement between Lublin and the French partner city of Nancy – informs Aneta Adamska, spokesperson at the Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin.

The Center is a joint initiative of the partner cities of Lublin and Nancy, the Maria Curie-Skłodowska University, the University of Lorraine and three Ukrainian universities: the Kyiv National Taras Shevchenko University, Chernivtsi Yuri Fedkowich National University and the Subcarpathian National Vasyl Stefanyk University in Ivano-Frankivsk.
