The Center for Creative Learning of Mathematics (CKUM) at the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science of the University of Bialystok (UwB) is inviting participants to take part in the competition “I met maths on vacation”.

This is a competition for people who are able to search for mathematical aspects in the world around them, in holiday conditions – convinces Dr Anna Rybak, CKUM coordinator.

Calculating the capacity of the backpack? Planning a budget for holiday expenses? Or maybe measuring the water velocity in the river or the frequency of rotation of the windmill wings? The competition work can be a text, but also an artistic or photographic presentation.
Participants of the competition may include students of primary and secondary schools. The works will be evaluated in three age categories. The jury will take into consideration the aesthetics, ingenuity, originality, legibility of showing and explaining the relationship with mathematics.
