Over 100 scientists and practitioners from all over the world took part in the Seminar of Atomic Spectrometry organized by the Faculty of Chemistry, University of Bialystok (UW).
The topics of the speeches included methodological problems in spectral techniques, speciation analysis and metallomics, new design solutions in measuring equipment as well as issues related to the preparation of samples and the application of spectrometric methods in industry, medicine, pharmacy, food research, environmental monitoring and monument protection.
During the Session of Young Spectroscopists, PhD students and young doctors of chemistry presented their research achievements. In addition, a special training session on research quality assurance was prepared.
During the event, the Jerzy Fijałkowski Award was granted to Prof. Ludwik Halicz – retired researcher, full professor of the Geological Survey of Israel (GSI) and professor of the University of Warsaw by the Spectral Analysis Team of the Committee of Analytical Chemistry of the Polish Academy of Sciences.
