Department of East Slavic Linguistics and Regional Onomastics, Faculty of Philology of the University of Białystok and Książnica Podlaska in Białystok are organizing an international interdisciplinary conference “The language of humor – the humor of language” on September 17-18, 2020.

The event will take place in Białystok. The organizers are inviting philologists, cultural scientists, philosophers and psychologists.

The main thematic areas of the conference include: Linguistic and cultural aspect of humor; Humor in discourses; Humor in translation; Humor as a language play tool; Humor in stylistic variants of the language; The use of humor in language learning and The phenomenon of humor as a subject of socio-philosophical analysis.

The working languages of the conference are: Polish, Russian, Belarusian, Ukrainian and English.
