The project ‘Polish sheep wool for improved resource utilisation and value creation’ (WOOLUME), implemented by a Polish-Norwegian scientific and business consortium with the University of Bielsko-Biala as the leader, has won the Polish Intelligent Development Award. The project is an example of an interdisciplinary approach to science.

The award was granted for the project’s results to date, which may result in a positive impact on socio-economic development, as well as for an open approach to promotion and communication with the public and an attitude aimed at actively building a positive and interesting image of Polish science and research and development.

The consortium of project implementers – in addition to the University of Bielsko-Biala – includes Oslo Metropolitan University and two industrial partners: Regional Product Centre in Koniaków and Selbu spinneri AS from Norway.
