The project “Integration and mobilization of data on biotic diversity Eukaryota in the resources of Polish scientific institutions (IMBIO)” implemented within the consortium participated by the University of Gdańsk has received funding from the Digital Poland Operational Program.
The aim of the project is to open access to scientific data on the biological diversity of nuclear organisms (Eukaryota), in the resources of Polish scientific institutions. It will be implemented by digitizing and sharing data that are still unavailable in digital form or in the Internet.
Co-financing of almost PLN 19 million will enable to create an IT system to integrate and share data from nature collections and data on species findings from other information sources that have not been digitally available so far. Access to data on the distribution of species in Poland and data from the most scientifically valuable Polish flora and fauna collections from around the world will be opened and free.
