University of Information Technology and Management launches program “Big Questions in Science” in Rzeszów

03.12.2021

On December 2, 2021, the University of Information Technology and Management (WSIiZ) in Rzeszów inaugurated the 6th “Great Questions in Science” program. Its first topic were considerations on the theory of superstrings.

The guests of the meeting “Caprices of the Universe” were: Fr. Prof. Michał Heller – cosmologist, philosopher and theologian, honorary professor of WSIiZ, and Dr Janusz Wawrowski – one of the most outstanding Polish violinists, originator and artistic director of international festivals promoting Polish music and lecturer at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw.

-Let’s imagine a mad violinist who would like to play out all physics on his instrument: not through mathematical formulas, but through music. There is a physical theory of superstrings that wants to do just that, – said Fr. prof. Michał Heller.

The lecture was combined with the violin concert of Dr Janusz Wawrowski.
