University of Life Sciences in Poznan organizes a course for people interested in beekeeping

University of Life Sciences in Poznan invites everyone who wants to know the biology of the honey bee and the basic principles of running an apiary. The condition for participation in the course is the age of 18 or more and no medical contraindications to work in the apiary.

The course will start in March and is intended for both those who have just started their first apiaries and those who are planning it. Classes will be held at the Department of Ownership Breeding of the University of Life Sciences in Poznań (theoretical part) and in the apiary in the field station in Swadzim near Poznań (practical part).

The lecture topics will include biology of honeybee and bee colony; apiary economy; bee diseases and pests and basics of beekeeping botany. Practical classes will include family reviews, preparing families for the production of honey and honey harvesting.
