Thanks to the initiative of Prof. Rafał Matera and Prof. Mariusz Sokołowicz from the Faculty of Economics and Sociology, University of Lodz (UŁ) as the first Polish university became a member of the Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN). Membership in this network established at the United Nations is part of the policy of sustainable development and pro-ecological activities pursued by the University of Lodz.
SDSN is a prestigious network founded in 2012 at the UN that connects leaders of sustainable development and top-class researchers from the European Union to promote practical solutions for sustainable development. Currently, the main goal of SDSN is to support the EU in implementing the so-called Green Deal.
SDSN works closely with UN agencies, multilateral funding institutions, the private sector and civil society.
