In the ranking of Tourist News 2021, the University of Łódź (UŁ) was assessed as the best Polish university educating in Tourism with a general academic profile. The BA and MA Tourism and Recreation study is conducted at the Faculty of Geographical Sciences, University of Lodz.   

The competition for the best tourist destination, organized by Tourist News, is a competition recognized not only by future students but most of all by the tourism industry, i.e. potential employers.

-Winning the competition increases interest in the study, as well as gives a sense of security when we think about the fate of graduates looking for employment in accordance with their education. The priority in the ranking of Tourist News is the result of the outstanding scientific potential of the Faculty compared to other universities educating in Tourism. Therefore, success is largely a derivative of the quality and importance of research carried out by the team of the Institute of Urban Geography, Tourism and Geoinformation, which conducts classes in Tourism on a daily basis – said Dr Bogdan Włodarczyk, Dean of the Faculty of Geographical Sciences of the University of Lodz and Director of the Institute of Urban Geography, Tourism and Geoinformation.
