27.01.2020

Experts from Germany, France, Italy, Greece and Poland met at the University of Lodz (UŁ) to jointly plan a strategy for being accepted to the “European Universities” network. The co-financing of a large project is up to five million euros.

On February 5, in Frankfurt, the rectors of five universities will sign a contract establishing a consortium that will submit an application for the “European Universities” project. The consortium will include Goethe University in Frankfurt as project coordinator, University of Lodz, University of Lyon II, Catholic University in Milan and the University of Macedonia in Thessaloniki. The deadline for submitting applications is 26 February this year. The results will be known in June and if they are successful, the project will start in October 2020.

The partners’ meeting at the University of Lodz is another part of the application procedure for the European Universities competition, prepared by the international project team for several months. If the project assumptions are accepted, the University of Lodz will start a new chapter of international cooperation for the development of broadly understood education and didactics – said Prof. Paweł Starosta, Vice Rector for National and International Cooperation of the University of Lodz.
