University of Opole to build a University Cardiovascular Center

26.04.2021

The University Cardiovascular Center will be established at the Clinical Hospital (USK) of the University of Opole. It will include all surgical departments dealing with cardiovascular diseases: cardiology, cardiosurgery and vascular surgery.

Also, it will include diagnostic laboratories for hemodynamics, angiography and electrophysiology.

– There should also be neurosurgery and interventional neurology, because currently patients requiring immediate medical assistance in these fields are transported by ambulances between institutions – says the director of USK Dariusz Madera.

The construction and equipment of the Center will cost about PLN 240 million.  The Opole Voivode; Voivodship Marshal; rector of the University of Opole and director of USK asked for inclusion of the Opole investment on the list of key projects in the National Reconstruction Program in a letter to the Minister of Health.
