Four universities in Poland recorded an increase in the total number of students between 2017 and 2018. This group includes: University of Warsaw, University of Silesia in Katowice, Jan Kochanowski University in Kielce and University of Rzeszów.
The result achieved by the Rzeszów University is satisfactory for its rector, Prof. Sylwester Czopek, who emphasizes that in the era of demographic decline and growing competition in the education market, it looks that education offered by the University of Rzeszów is good.
– Figures show nearly 7 percent of increased interest in extramural studies, which allows to assume that students also work, which may mean that they have knowledge and practical skills, which in turn allows them to build better relations between the University and the socio-economic environment and industry. Malcontents will say that they “work because they have to” and probably this is true for some of them. However, it does not change the fact that combining studies and work confirms their maturity and the ability to manage their own development – believes the rector of the University of Rzeszów.
