The University of Silesia has become memoQ partner universities. It is one of the most important software suppliers for the translation industry in the world. Thanks to this partnership, 3rd and 5th year students of English translation faculty will be able to use the tool, which is an important element of the modern translator’s workshop.

The memoQ software is one of the CAT tools (computer-aided translation). It has many functions that make the translator’s life easier – from creating and editing dictionaries, through expanding translation memories, to extensive networking options.

The use of CAT tools is particularly important in the case of updated or recurring texts. After loading the translated document, it often turns out that the program already “remembers” several to several dozen percent of the content.
