The University of Silesia extends cooperation with the Beijing Technical University. Among the planned initiatives is the establishment of a Confucian Class at the Silesian University.

After the signing of the framework agreement, that was made during the visit of the Chinese delegation in Katowice, the implementation work of executive contract for running a student exchange program enabling the diplomas of both universities began. The academic exchange was initiated during the summer school of language, literature and Polish culture in Cieszyn.

Both universities have been cooperating since 2017. At that time, together with the third partner the Opole University of Technology they announced the organization of a Chinese language course at the University of Silesia. Since January 2018, the Center of Chinese Language and Culture has been operating. This research and didactic unit conducts classes on Chinese language and culture, and undertakes numerous initiatives to promote countries of the Far East in Poland.
