The University of Silesia is implementing the project ‘Welcome2US – developing the potential of the University of Silesia in Katowice in terms of services for foreign staff’. Its aim is to improve the quality of service provided to foreign staff and increase the university’s attractiveness as an employer for potential foreign candidates.

Initiatives under the Welcome2US project include the organisation and maintenance of a co-working area for foreign staff “USil Staff Meeting Point”, team-building meetings for foreign staff #FeelWell@USil, training for foreign staff #UsilNewSkills and an online conference for international researchers #USilCareerDay.

The project is funded by the National Agency for Academic Exchange and is part of the Welcome to Poland programme, which aims to develop competencies related to increasing the internationalisation of universities. The activities are aimed at current and future foreign employees.
