The University of Silesia in Katowice won the Global Leadership Award by the Climate Law and Governance Initiative in recognition of the excellent organization of the Global Law Conference Climate Law and Governance Day 2018. The conference was held as part of last year’s COP24 climate summit in Katowice.

The award is an expression of appreciation for the university participating in international discussions on threats resulting from global climate change and commitment to activities related to ecology and legal protection of animals.

It is also a form of appreciation of the institutions cooperating with the university constantly and supporting the organization of last year’s Climate Law and Governance Day 2018 conference – the Supreme Bar Council, the District Bar Association, the GZM Metropolis, the Provincial Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management in Katowice and Silesian Trams.
