Scientists from the University of Silesia won the EUSFLAT 2019 Best Student Paper Award of the European Society for Fuzzy Logic and Technology. The awarded publication is “Some Remarks on the Generalized Scheme of Reduction to Absurdity and Generalized Hypothetical Syllogism in Fuzzy Logic”.

The prize was awarded to scientists of the Institute of Mathematics of the Silesian University: PhD student Katarzyna Miś, Dr Michał Baczyński, Prof. of University of Silesia and Dr Piotr Helbin.

The EUSFLAT Association brings together scientists who deal with fuzzy logic topics in their research. One of the activities of this organization are scientific conferences organized every two years, during which the results of their analyzes are presented by scientists from many academic centers around the world. The main topic of this year’s conference was the theory and applications of computational intelligence, fuzzy systems, as well as so-called soft calculations.
