Department of Didactics of Polish Language and Literature and the Institute of Library and Information Science of the University of Silesia in Katowice are inviting participants to the scientific conference in October on “How to make facts understandable? Literature, document, humanistic education and (de) assembly of cultural representations of reality”.
The conference will be an opportunity to reflect on beautiful literature as a narrative proposing various paradigms of reality description, a document like seismograph responsive to all changes and the shape and role of humanistic education incorporating this type of texts into school practice.
The discussion topics will include literary texts, non-fiction literature, personal documentary literature as an attempt to give meaning to facts, non-fiction / personal documentary literature as an opportunity for the presence of important contemporary questions in school education (e.g. climate crisis, issues related to migration).
