The Poviat Labor Office in Tychy together with the Institute of Sociology of the University of Silesia implemented the project “WORK for JOB – through work placement”. Students took part in the internship, in which they conducted social research, and the results obtained in this way became the inspiration to introduce some innovations in the office.

The students’ task was to design social research on issues agreed with specialists from the employment office. Working in three teams of three students, they analyzed the situation of young people and foreigners on the local labor market, as well as evaluated the effectiveness of subsidies granted for starting a business.

Completed qualitative and quantitative researches had practically useful dimensions. They enabled to check the effectiveness of actions taken by the Tychy labor office, aimed at professional activation of both the unemployed and job seekers.
