Poland’s first Landscape Reading Station has been established at the Faculty of Natural Sciences of the University of Silesia in Sosnowiec. In designing the project, the architectural qualities of the building (nearly 100 m of relative height and view openings on four sides of the world) were used to create a unique teaching product for the University of Silesia and to strengthen its modern potential.

In addition to the part describing the landscape, the station includes a specialised analysis laboratory for students specialising in monitoring landscape change, as well as improving their competences in modern cartography and Geographical Information Systems.

The station will eventually be equipped with spherical cameras, making it possible to transmit images online across the entire visibility band. Supplemented with appropriate verbal commentary, it can serve the people of the region, including those with special educational needs.
