The Department of Theory of Literature and Culture and the Philological Research Group BESTO operating under the patronage of the Animal Studies Laboratory – Third Culture University of Silesia invite participants to the seminar on “Vegan Narratives: Representations / Interpretations / Inspirations”, which will be devoted to research on veganism in literary and cultural contexts.

The event is addressed to researchers from various areas of knowledge to enable them to discuss how veganism inspires activities and statements – in literary, artistic and cultural contexts.

The organizers invite the participants to share the reflection on the language that literature speaks about veganism and the means of expressing vegan identity. The topics will include elements of vegan experience that inspire writers, filmmakers and artists, and how individual experience translates into a universal language of artistic expression.
