On January 28, the University of Silesia in Katowice is inviting participants to the third Science Premiere Stage: Scientific Talk Show. The series promotes interesting, inspiring and award-winning achievements of people working at the Silesian university.

This time the organizers are proposing an on-line meeting with Dr Monika Glosowitz – the winner of the Poznań Literary Award – Scholarship of S. Barańczak for the monograph “Affective Machineries. Literary strategies of emancipation in the newest Polish female poetry”.

Dr Monika Glosowitz, researcher of the Institute of Literature Studies analyzes literature using feminist tools, and also translates philosophical texts. During the meeting, she will tell viewers about emotions and the ways of expressing them in poetry created by women representing different generations.

– The activity of feminists in our country was undoubtedly liberation. The strength of their actions, just like the strength of other radical movements, origins from emotions. It is the motto opening the Dr Glosowitz’s book.
