The Institute of Philosophy of the University of Silesia is inviting participants to a lecture and discussion from the program “Between philosophy and critical art”. The guest of the meeting will be Zbigniew Libera – a pioneer of Polish critical art, who on March 17 will present its controversial works during the lecture “Art of Liberation. 1980-2020”.
Libera’s works including Intimate rites, Lego. Concentration camp or Positives are part of the collections of the most important art museums: Center for Contemporary Art at the Ujazdowski Castle in Warsaw, National Art Gallery “Zachęta” in Warsaw, Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw, National Museum in Krakow, Jewish Museum in New York, Tate Modern Gallery.
The artist will talk about his works, which comments and at the same time shapes our socio-cultural reality for several decades, using a variety of artistic means and techniques.
