The Rector of the University of Szczecin and the Marshal of the West Pomeranian Voivodeship signed a letter of intent regarding cooperation aimed at creating a UNESCO Chair at the university.
The University of Szczecin and the provincial government want to disseminate sustainable social solutions developed in the region. The creation of the UNESCO Chair for Sustainable Social Development at the University of Szczecin will be an important step on this path. Thanks to these activities, students of the Doctoral School will have even better contact with international research teams.
The international program of the UNESCO Network of Chairs has been operating since 1992 and emphasizes the promotion of innovation in scientific research. The role of the Chairs includes consultancy in the development of educational, scientific and cultural policies, building bridges between universities, policy makers and the public, and promoting cultural diversity.
