The Department of Systematic Theology of the Institute of Theological Sciences of the University of Szczecin is organizing the scientific conference ‘The Church in the Age of Coronavirus’. From 23 to 24 June, 25 speakers from Poland, Austria, Italy, Spain, Albania and Bolivia will join the conference, remotely.

Participants, through their lectures, will undertake an analysis of problems arising during the coronavirus pandemic, affecting the Church in the doctrinal and pastoral fields. This is the first meeting of this type in Poland.

One of the phenomena noticeable during the disaster was the quite strong polarization of church societies. While some believers tried to find some opportunity to verify their religious attitudes in the fact of the epidemic, others saw it as a punishment for sins, and maybe even the beginning of apocalypse.
