University of Szczecin to launch an intercultural training for staff “Welcome to Poland”

The University of Szczecin is launching classes for employees who provide services to foreigners as part of their duties. It will start with an intercultural training for teaching and administrative staff, aiming to acquire skills that will help newcomers to overcome the communication barrier.

The planned objectives of the classes are to make people aware of their own conditions and their impact on the perception of the world and behavior, increase the awareness of multiculturalism, acquire intercultural competences, realize the need for intercultural development of the entire organization as necessary for further development, develop the ability to cooperate with foreigners, different cultures and provide for education of behaviors enabling better communication with foreigners.

Further activities, planned as part of the project of the National Agency for Academic Exchange “Welcome to Poland” include methodological language training for teaching staff and a language course.
