University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn to launch new studies

The University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn in the new academic year 2021/2022 is launching new studies: Geoinformatics as well as Ichthyology and Aquaculture.

The study of ichthyology and aquaculture will be available for students as BA Engineering studies at the Faculty of Animal Bioengineering (WBZ). It will replace Fishing.

This study has an academic profile, allowing students to gain comprehensive knowledge in the field of legal, economic and ecological aspects of managing living resources of inland waters – said Prof. Magdalena Koziorowska-Gilun, the deputy dean for education at WBZ UWM.

Education in the field of geoinformatics will focus on acquiring the skills of using modern measuring equipment such as: GNSS satellite receivers, laser georadars, echosounders or underwater drones, which enable image registration in the aquatic environment.
