The University of Warsaw (UW) is in first place among scientific institutions that are beneficiaries of the European Union Framework Programme “Horizon Europe”. Researchers from the UW are involved in the implementation of 66 projects totalling more than €26 million. 

“Horizon Europe (HE) is the largest programme in the history of the European Union to support research and innovation. Its budget for 2021-2027 is more than €95 billion. To date, the European Union has awarded more than €419 million to grant recipients from Poland.

Most of the funds awarded to the University of Warsaw (EUR 16.21 million) are for projects in the Excellent science pillar. EUR 8.37 million was awarded to projects under the Global Challenges and European Industrial Competitiveness pillar, and EUR 1.49 million to projects under the Innovative Europe pillar.
